"The new year is a good time to be forward-thinking about who you want to be; but it's also a great time to look back at what you're ready to let go of." Esther Perel
This week 's blog is short and sweet!
It's all about taking a bit of time to reflect on our year to make sure we know what we want less of and what need more of in the next year. It helps us feel accountable and also empowers us to make things happen. It takes intention, effort, and reflection.
Who do we want to be in 2023? What do we want to let go of?
It feels good to reflect on our year and try to find ways to make our life more enjoyable, more meaningful and more peaceful.
Here is a list of questions I asked myself this week and the answers helped me create my two lists. I'd love to know your own process so please share it in the comments. The more ideas and suggestions we get here, the more beneficial it is for all of us.
- What would make my life easier?
- What triggers me? What makes me feel angry, jealous, resentful? When do I get offended?
(Analyzing our triggers helps us identify what we wish we had, what we are suffering from, what we need from others or from ourselves)
- What am I ready to stop doing because I know it is either hurting me or bringing me down?
- What makes me smile?
- What makes me feel all fired up?
- What am I thankful for at the end of a hard day?
- What does my heart long for?
- Am I honoring myself and being my most authentic self? If not, what do I need to let go or do I need to do?
I listed the things I am ready to leave behind and the list of things I want to welcome in the new year right here:
What would YOU write on your own lists?
If you need pics of the lists in a blank format, message me and I am happy to send them your way!
I wish you a Happy New Year. May you have all the love, grace, happiness, health, and laughter possible! Take good care of yourself!
